EDTA Acid is an aminopolycarboxylic acid available in white, water-soluble solid form. This is widely used for binding to iron and calcium ions. It is also used to bind these ions as a hexadentate chelating agent. It is widely used to sequester metal ions in aqueous solution. It prevents metal ion impurities of dyed products in the textile domain. In the pulp and paper industry, this inhibits the growth of metal ions.
